Rudi Urbach is a young guitarist, bassist and singer-songwriter from Ontario who, at age 16, has already written over 30 songs. Influenced by the pop-punk of Green Day, the glam lyricism of Hawksley Workman, and the classic rock of John Fogerty, Rudi’s sound is coming into its own on the shores of the Ottawa River.
In the spring of 2021 Rudi was one of the winners of the Annual Henhouse Express Junior Contest for young songwriters. Henhouse Express is an affordable remote recording option offered by Juno Award-winning producer and musician Steve Dawson (guitar and other stringed things) along with acclaimed musicians Gary Craig (drums) and Jeremy Holmes (bass). Rudi got to record his song Make Believe Is Real with these awesome musicians and humans. They also made a video of the process, which you can check out here.
In the fall of 2021 Rudi returned to the virtual Hen House Express studio to record three more of his own songs. He released these three songs alongside Make Believe Is Real as his first EP in December 2022! You can check it out on Bandcamp.
